We are a small team that have been racing since we could walk. Swim / cycle / run — whatever poses a challenge.

Brands distributed in South Africa

We actually use this stuff

We are continuously learning and searching for quality products to distribute. The job is simple to describe and hard to do well: import and sell products to athletes looking to advance their performance.

Because we race the same events you do, spec matters more than story. Weight, drop, stack, outsole compound, carbohydrate per serving — if the supplier publishes it, it goes on the page. If they do not, we leave it blank rather than fill it in.

Two jobs, one warehouse

Pure Endurance is a distributor and a retailer. We supply specialist running retailers across South Africa, and we sell direct — which is what this site is for. Trade enquiries are welcome.

Three people, one warehouse

Dawid Visser

CEO / Founder · Technical and scientific expert

A technical and scientific industry expert with 22 years of experience, which is a polite way of saying there’s been a lot of time spent obsessing over performance, product, materials, biomechanics and why some things work better than others. Sport has always been part of the story, having grown up in a very sporting household. Former track runner, road runner, duathlete and triathlete — yes, there are an alarming number of “ex’s” in there. These days it’s mainly trail running… mostly. The competitive streak is still very much alive; it just spends more time on dirt now. That mix of technical knowledge and years of real-world sporting experience means there’s usually a scientific explanation behind the opinion — even when the opinion is simply that you definitely need another pair of shoes. Speaking of which, there’s a fairly serious sunglasses and shoe fetish, an unhealthy attraction to anything red or camo, and a deeply held belief that the correct number of running shoes is always “one more.” Technical, curious, performance obsessed and never too far away from a trail, a pair of sunglasses or something unnecessarily camouflaged.

Dr. Yolandi Visser

Director

The real boss. Sporting wife, paediatrician, and quite possibly working harder in her real job than all the boys in this office combined. Always positive, always supportive, and usually the one offering some much-needed encouragement when the rest of us are overthinking, overtraining or overcomplicating things. She brings a calm, grounded energy to the chaos, keeps everyone in check without really having to try, and somehow manages to make encouragement sound convincing even when we probably don’t deserve it. Basically, the unofficial voice of reason around here.

Rohan Kennedy

Brand Manager · Resident endurance coach

Still races like it’s the 1980s — apparently nobody told him things have changed since he got out of diapers. A duathlete, triathlete and trail runner, he’s also our resident endurance coach, which means he’s equally comfortable talking race strategy, training loads, pacing and suffering voluntarily for several hours at a time. He’s been around the sporting world long enough to know just about everyone, and more importantly, to know all the industry gossip before everyone else does. With more than 20 years of sales experience, he’s built a reputation for knowing people, understanding what makes customers tick, and closing deals. Put simply, he could probably sell ice to an Eskimo — and somehow convince them to take the premium option too. Part salesman, part athlete, part endurance coach, part walking industry directory, and always good for a story, a deal, or a bit of information you probably weren’t supposed to hear yet.
